In
the less than sterile conditions of most machine shops, diluted metalworking
fluids become an ideal medium for bacterial growth. Both airborne
bacteria and those on the working machinery and surfaces can cause
harmful corrosion in the machinery and in the final product. Many
shops have central sumps and transfer systems that require regular
attention to prevent slime build-up and unpleasant odours caused by
dangerous H2S gas. |
